KAU President lays foundation stone for new Faculty of Education

 

The foundation stone for a new building of the Faculty of Education was laid by KAU President, Prof Osama S. Tayyeb, on Wednesday, 27th February 2013 in the presence of Prof Abdurrahman Alyoubi, Vice President for Educational Affairs, Prof Adnan Zahed, Vice President, and Dr Abdul-Fattah Mashat, Vice President for Development.
 
Encompassing an area of 9 thousand square meters, the new five-storey building will be equipped with the latest technology to have a conducive atmosphere of learning and research, according to Dr Saeed Afandi, the faculty's dean.
 
Plans are afoot to gain more accreditations from reputable accrediting organisations, he also added.
 
A number of facilities were also launched during the visit, including a new website, logo,  a holy Quran society, a holy Quran library, and six videoconference halls.
 
Some other infrastructural projects aimed at improving the quality of education at the faculty were also unveiled by Prof Tayyeb.
