Prof Alyoubi receives highly-cited scholars

As part of the Highly-cited Researcher Programme, Vice President for Educational Affairs, Prof Abdurrahman Alyoubi, received at his office Wednesday February 20th 2013 a delegation from reputable US universities.
The delegation comprised Prof Gregory Martin, professor of Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology at Cornell University, Prof Bikram Gill, a Distinguished Professor of plant pathology at Kansas State University, and Prof Casimir Akoh, a Distinguished Research Professor at the Department of Food Science & Technology, University of Georgia.
The purpose of the visit, according to Prof Alyoubi, was to discuss aspects of mutual cooperation in scientific research in line with KAU's policy of seeking to provide a high-quality education and taking advantage of the capacity and expertise of other local and foreign universities and scientists.
The meeting was attended by Dr Abdullah Y. Obaid, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Dr Osama Aboznada, Head of the Department of Biological Sciences, Prof Nabih A. Baeshin, Professor of Genetics and Biotechnology, and Dr Jamal Sabir, Head of the Genomic and Biotechnology Division.
Recruited by the the Genomic and Biotechnology Division, the visiting scientists will be involved in lectures and workshops and other scientific research activities.
