HRH Prince of Madinah Region Crowns Two Winning Teams from University Female Students in Madinah Dates Hackathon

 
 
 His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Prince of Madinah Region, crowned two teams from the university’s College of Computer Science following their achievement of second place in the first and second tracks of the Madinah Dates Hackathon. This hackathon is considered a significant advancement in the cultivation and quality assessment of dates using technology and artificial intelligence.

The students Huda Alam Turkistani, Lin Abdulaziz Al-Aslani, and Raghad Abdulaziz Somaili, supervised by Dr. Samar Al-Khuraiji, won in the second track of the "AI Hackathon" for the Madinah Dates Season. Their project, "Lina," utilizes artificial intelligence techniques to diagnose palm tree diseases.

The project idea involves the development made by the student team on the "Lina" application, which leverages artificial intelligence to diagnose palm tree diseases accurately and swiftly, enabling early detection of these diseases.

Meanwhile, another team of university students — Rafaa Kulaib, Khulood Al-Qozi, Mai Al-Harbi, Widad Hakami, and Amani Al-Amri, from the College of Computing and Information Technology — achieved second place in the first track of the "AI Hackathon" for the Madinah Dates Season. Their project, titled "Palm Examiner," offers an innovative solution for examining infected palm trees.
