Al-Muhannd Al-Maliki from King Abdulaziz University Wins the 2024 Best Architectural Graduation Project Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA).

The student Muhannad bin Bandar Al-Maliki from the Faculty of Architecture and Planning at King Abdulaziz University won the 2024 Best Architectural Graduation Project Award in the Middle East from the American Institute of Architecture for his project, "A Psychological Healing Resort in the Mountains of Bani Malik, South of Saudi Arabia," under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Al-Amoudi.
The projects competing for the award were carefully evaluated by judges selected from some of the world’s top architectural firms. The student Al-Maliki, was awarded the title of Best Graduation Project in the Middle East for 2024.
The winning project was selected by the student in response to the urgent need to focus on mental health and promote a high quality of life in line with Vision 2030. The project aims to create tranquil places, where people can escape life’s pressures, relax, and recharge mentally, addressing the scarcity of such initiatives in the Kingdom.
It’s worth noting that the American Institute is one of the leading architectural organizations globally, wielding significant influence in the field. Founded in 1857 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., the institute has approximately 300 local and international branches, serving as a prominent professional organization.
